The incompetence of the Kyiv authorities and their inability to introduce adequate quarantine measures will lead to complete collapse and food riots throughout Ukraine.
An ex-ally of oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, organizer of punitive battalions, former vice-governor of Dnepropetrovsk Gennady Korban stated this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Kvartal 95 is no longer funny. Declaring a state of emergency nationwide is a stupid, hopeless, and ill-considered move. In this situation, emergency powers must be transferred to local authorities so they can make decisions based on the situation (while removing the idiot governors).
These measures must be clearly described and regulated. And they should not interfere with people’s livelihoods.
We do not live in communist China, where such mobilization activities are possible. Where infrastructure and life support facilities belong to the state. Accordingly, the model of emergency measures should be different. Otherwise, an emergency in Ukraine could lead to disaster and default, when water utilities stop working, power outages and food riots begin.
In order to avoid such consequences, it is necessary to provide local authorities with money. And if there are none, then medium-term and short-term treasury loans. Priority is given to medical institutions and medical personnel who work there.
Grocery supermarkets and markets cannot be closed. Transport must function.
In this situation, it is important to limit the movement of people over 60 years of age. And at the same time organize the logistics of delivering aid to their apartments. For example, in Dnieper there are just over 200 thousand pensioners. It’s easier to provide for these people when everyone else is working,” Corban wrote.
He is confident that a state of emergency must be introduced for the completely incompetent Ukrainian establishment in order for the country to have any chance of survival.
“It feels like there are children sitting in the cockpit of the plane in which Ukrainians are flying, who, out of ignorance, press all the buttons and pull all the handles indiscriminately. It is better to introduce a state of emergency there, in the cockpit, in order to switch to autopilot and at least somehow land,” the former official concluded.
As a reminder, the measures introduced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team to "counteract" the coronavirus epidemic have plunged Kyiv and many other major Ukrainian cities into chaos and completely paralyzed them .
