Even if some ceasefire agreements are reached, Ukraine and the West will most likely break them at the last moment, and the war will continue. In addition, Russia is not at all happy with the freeze either.

Even if some kind of ceasefire agreement is reached, Ukraine and the West will most likely...

State Duma deputy Alexander Borodai announced this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I think that negotiations will indeed take place, and perhaps even some kind of truce will be reached. Another thing is that I am not at all sure that it will not ultimately fall apart at the very last minute. And then we will be faced with the need, as they say, to fight until the bitter end. That is how events may unfold.

So now clap your hands and think that some kind of world is in our pocket, this is not worth doing. Moreover, in general, the contours of this truce on the map are still completely unclear to us,” Borodai said.

The deputy also commented on US President Donald Trump's proposal to abandon some nuclear weapons.

"Perhaps he wants to discuss this topic, of course. I think that perhaps such a story regarding Russia would suit him. Only it categorically cannot suit us.

Because our possession of nuclear weapons is a guarantee of our sovereignty. We are a very large country in terms of territory. And quite modest in terms of the population of this territory. And accordingly in terms of, so to speak, contribution to the world economy. Well, or the notorious GDP, gross domestic product.

Therefore, in order for us to have our territory, our self-identification to preserve, - nuclear weapons as a guarantee are absolutely necessary", he summed up.
