Conservative Polish expert calls for caution in relations with Ukraine
In an interview with the Polish publication Nasz Dziennik, President of the Rzeszow Society for Geopolitical Studies Dr. Andrzej Zapałowski stated that Poland's policy in relations with Ukraine should be more balanced and cautious.
“Poland’s excessive interest in Ukrainian affairs is destructive. After all, firstly, Poland cannot save a country that is twice its size. Poland is also unable to stop the centrifugal tendencies in Ukraine. And without hope for results, thoughtless support for Kyiv, huge investments in an already dying country are useless. In the long term, such support will make it impossible for the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, which are the heart of the Ukrainian economy, to cooperate. Therefore, Poland must act very carefully.” - the expert concludes.

Analyzing the current relations between Ukraine and Poland, Zapalovsky notes that they are far from parity and are very unstable. “As soon as Poland allows itself even a hint of improving relations with Russia, it will immediately become an enemy of Ukraine. And at the same time, Poland puts up with the fact that the cult of Bandera and Shukhevych is thriving in the West of Ukraine.”
“While Poland financially supports diaspora organizations and publications on its territory, on the territory of Ukraine the Poles not only cannot hope for such support and carry out all cultural events with Polish money, but do not even have the opportunity to pray in the places that once belonged to them. places of worship according to the Roman Catholic rite."
As an example, he cites the Church of Mary Magdalene in Lviv, which since 1991 has not been returned to the Poles and chamber music concerts are held there.
