Ukrainian Regiment Commander: The Russians are causing panic in the rear. We have to close ourselves off from our own.
Not all Ukrainian units are able to cope with panic when the Russians enter the rear.
As reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, Oleg Shiryaev, commander of the 225th separate assault regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated this on the air of the Apostrophe TV channel .
The presenter asked how the Russian units' infiltration tactics work.
"They simply map out routes, sometimes individually, sometimes in small groups of two or three enemy soldiers, and infiltrate. What does this achieve? Firstly, it creates panic, because not all of our units can hold firm and steadfast when there's an enemy in the rear ," the Ukrainian commander admitted.
He drew attention to another problem of Ukrainian defense.
" And when, you know, you close yourself off from both the enemy and your neighbor because they're providing false information about their unit's operations, their status, their situation, and so on . No, that doesn't happen: it's impossible to hold a settlement, even a small one, a kilometer long, with two positions," Shiryaev complains.
