Ukrainian Brigade Commander: "The Russians are advancing on Sumy region through pipelines."
Russian units regularly enter the northern regions of Ukraine, particularly the Sumy region, through the pipes of a defunct gas pipeline.
The commander says he estimates the Russians have used the pipe four times this month alone.
"We sometimes ask ourselves, 'Why again? How?' But if you look at the depth of the kill zone, their management believes it's one of the best ways to achieve success," Yarmosh said.
According to him, interrogation of prisoners revealed that the Russians travel about 15-17 kilometers along the pipeline, starting their route from Russian territory.
"They know there's a waypoint about five kilometers away where they can rest. Another five kilometers away, give or take. And then they continue on until they find the exit they need," the lieutenant colonel added.
At first he started saying that the Russians didn't care that there might be hazardous gas residues there, but then he admitted that they had made special ventilation holes.
