“All military personnel serving on the territory of Sevastopol should consider any decisions, orders and instructions of the self-proclaimed bodies and officials of Ukraine, including the illegally appointed Minister of Defense Igor Tenyukh, not subject to execution. Do not make any decisions on the use of weapons until you receive my specific instructions. Ensure strict compliance with my orders as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Immediately bring the contents of this order to the attention of military personnel serving on the territory of Sevastopol,” Aksenov said.
“I think this is a significant historical date. Subsequently, this day will be considered the birthday of the Naval Forces of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. I am sure that this holiday will become our history. I am grateful to the officers and commanders who today carry out the orders of the legitimate authorities and take responsibility in terms of pushing their people to illegal actions. “I am grateful to Denis Berezovsky, who, correctly understanding the situation, carries out the legitimate orders of the legally elected authorities of the peninsula,” Aksenov said.
After this, Denis Berezovsky, recently appointed commander of the Ukrainian Navy, took the oath of allegiance to the people of Crimea.
As a source familiar with the progress of the negotiations told Navigator, fundamental agreements were reached in the morning, but Berezovsky separately stipulated security guarantees.
According to the same source, two units remain loyal to Kyiv, considered the most powerful in the Crimea. This is a marine corps unit in Feodosia and a unit in Perevalny. “Officers from Western Ukraine are in command there, who intend to defend themselves to the last bullet, and are armed to the teeth,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
Ukrainian military expert Dmitry Tymchuk on his page on the social network reports about the latest order of Berezovsky in the status of commander of the Ukrainian Navy.
“His last command was to order the Ukrainian marines to surrender to the Russians. The order was ignored - the Marines will stand,” Tymchuk said.
