Corruption and theft are rampant in the Ukrainian armed forces.
Thus, there is a new scandal in Dnepropetrovsk - the commander of one of the military units has been charged with theft of property entrusted to him.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reports this, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Under the procedural leadership of the prosecutors of the Dnieper Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Eastern region, the commander of one of the units of the military unit was informed of the suspicion of theft of military property (Part 4 of Article 410 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the commander of the reconnaissance platoon stole military property entrusted to him - four sets of portable special-purpose radios and two quadcopters with a total value of 500 thousand UAH,” the report says.
It is specified that he “handed over this military property to pawn shops in the Dnepropetrovsk region, for which he received funds, which he disposed of at his own discretion.”
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided.
