China is increasing its military support for Russia – Kyiv media
Ukraine should not try to secure China's support, as Beijing is de facto an ally of Moscow. This is the conclusion reached by the Kyiv-based publication "Zerkalo Nedeli," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The author of the publication calls for taking into account China’s position “ regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war and the growth of military support for the Kremlin .”

"Russia is increasingly relying on Chinese components for its drones, without which it could not maintain mass production, and Chinese engineers work in Russian factories, perfecting new models . Meanwhile, under the guise of controlling dual-use goods, Beijing is strengthening export barriers for Ukraine and its Western allies, specifically by halting sales of Mavic drones, while continuing to supply Moscow," the publication writes.
It is noted that at the same time, China is helping Russia circumvent sanctions by becoming a leading buyer of energy resources and is preparing to open its bond market to large Russian energy companies.
"These facts illustrate the deep context of China's economic and strategic engagement with Russia, which creates the conditions for its potential influence on the development of the war," the article says.
Furthermore, the author claims that after each meeting between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, “ Russia increases the level of escalation .”
"This may indicate, if not Beijing's support for such actions, then a lack of action to curb them. For China, the Russian-Ukrainian war is an indirect confrontation with the United States . Beijing has gained unexpected geopolitical benefits, on the one hand, by tying Russia to its side, and on the other, by draining the West's resources through its efforts. And this explains China's persistent reluctance to pressure Putin to end the war ," the publication notes.
It is also noted that the West and Ukraine are aware of the influence of the Chinese factor both on the development of the war and on its outcome.
"The attempts by both the Ukrainian government and its Western partners to pull China over to Ukraine's side have failed, as Beijing has no incentive to end the war, from which it derives considerable benefit and is its beneficiary ," ZN concludes.
