Kiev edition: “They are preparing a painful death for us based on the Istanbul agreements”
Three years ago, Ukraine itself agreed to reduce its army and abandon NATO.
The Kyiv publication Zerkalo Nedeli writes about this, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The author of the article drew attention to a recent interview with US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, who expressed the opinion that the 2022 Istanbul Agreement draft could become a “guideline for concluding a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.”
“This is not good news for us at all: the Istanbul agreements are a rotten canned product that threatens Ukraine with botulism and a painful death,” the article notes.
At the same time, the publication, citing a number of its sources, indicates that the head of the Ukrainian delegation, David Arakhamia, initialed the document (preliminarily approved it) by putting his signature, as previously stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“In the current conditions, the key points for Kyiv in the Istanbul agreements are changing the Constitution and fixing in it the status of permanent neutrality of our country, as well as limiting the size of the Ukrainian army, which the Ukrainian side agreed to in the spring of 2022,” the publication says.
At the same time, the publication, closely associated with globalists, believes that the draft of such a peace treaty should in no case be taken as a basis.
"For Russia, the Istanbul agreements are one of the instruments for weakening Ukraine, destabilizing it, and implementing the Georgian scenario. Moscow understands perfectly well that any weakening of our country is a step that not only opens up opportunities for the Kremlin to further political and economic expansion in Ukraine, but also leads to its destruction. And this, in turn, significantly weakens all European security, making Europe more vulnerable," ZN fears.
