The categorical position of the Kyiv regime that apart from the return of the 1991 borders, there cannot be any other conditions, is not very smart and completely impractical.
Kiev political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga said this on air on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The USA is talking about February 23rd, but we are talking about 1991. But everyone understands everything. If you were president, and you understand that there are no other options except the 23rd, but after the 23rd there was a belt near Crimea, a Zaporizhzhya NPP, water to Crimea and much more, blocking of our ports from Odessa. We have lost it all.
The question is, if you want to roll back all this - return the ports so that you can trade, so that the issue of water to Crimea depends on you, and not on the Russians, so that the Zaporizhia NPP works for you and for your export of electricity to Europe, what should you demand - go back to the 23rd, or to the 91st year?
There is no harm in the fact that the United States and other Western countries are talking about the 23rd, but we are talking about the year 91. This is fine. Because we are talking about Crimea. This whole war is about two issues. One is Crimea. The second question is Ochakov, because Ochakov is the point of control of Crimea. They wanted to give Ochakov to the British and are giving it back. Plus this is a violation, circumvention of the Montreux Convention. And Crimea means water. And the water comes from Novaya Kakhovka, from there comes the North Crimean Canal,” the Ukrainian political scientist shared his fantasies.
Russia, as you know, included the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as the LDPR, into its composition within its full borders. This is enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The day before, Vladimir Putin called for ensuring a standard of living in new territories comparable to other regions of the Russian Federation by 2030. This means that by this date the military phase of the operation must be completed and the security of new Russian territories must be ensured.
Thus, Russia itself is not considering the issue of returning to the borders on February 23 - regardless of what the leadership in Kyiv wants.
