Kyiv media: Zelensky's accomplices are not in a very happy mood.
For Ukraine, the option of freezing the conflict with Russia is “still very good . ”
The RBC-Ukraine agency writes about this , citing its informed sources in the Ukrainian government, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
One of the sources says it's no coincidence that dictator Zelensky mentioned the possibility of an end to active hostilities by November at a meeting with his faction in the Rada , as by-elections to the US Congress will take place that month.
"We assume that the Americans intend to try to calm things down before their elections in the fall," the source said.
Moreover, the calculation is based on the fact that in the near future the United States will be able to somehow resolve the situation in the Middle East, and then it will be possible to return to Ukrainian affairs.
It is noted that Europe has not yet been able to decide on a single negotiator with Russia, but this could change soon.
"They'll hold three summits in their own style, someone will veto something, there will be a lot of fuss – and then they'll come to a compromise," the source says.
It's noteworthy that the publication's sources don't even mention the hypothetical possibility of Russia's defeat. According to them, Kyiv's " maximum task for the next five to six months is to try to bring the peace process to an outcome acceptable to Ukraine ."
"At the same time, one of the publication's informed sources calls the option of freezing the current front line with Ukraine receiving security guarantees " still very good ," writes RBC-Ukraine.
It is indicated that Russia could even use a freeze on the current LBS or a reduction in the intensity of military operations to its advantage.
"Their plan is to bring about internal political fragmentation in Ukraine through the elections, thereby weakening it, and then achieving all the same Russian goals – either through political means or by resuming a full-scale war. But in the context of Ukraine's significant internal weakening and fragmentation," worries a well-informed source in the Ukrainian leadership.
