During Independence Day celebrations in Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a man who climbed onto the stand of the "Freedom Factor" exhibition, which opened the day before, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

At the same time, the police had to use violence because the man did not want to get off the stand. During the playing of the Ukrainian anthem, a policeman and a man in civilian clothes stood up to the offender and threw him to the ground.

After that, the police struck him several times, causing blood to flow onto the man’s face and hands, then the security forces laid him face down on the sidewalk.

The gathered crowd began to be outraged by the actions of the police and chant “Ganba!” One of the police officers tried to block what was happening from people with a piece of a banner that had come off during the fight, but people still approached the man lying down and filmed his bloody hands and head on their smartphones.

"What are you doing? Why are you beating him? Bitches, fuck off!” - people shouted.

People claimed that the detainee was an ATO veteran.

“They beat him because he fought for Ukraine! He is an ATO veteran,” they shouted. Just at this time, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky spoke from the podium about the war in Donbass.

After this, the detainee was taken away in the direction of Proriznaya Street.
