Kyiv is urgently looking for a new carrot for the population
About three percent of Ukrainian citizens will be able to take advantage of the so-called visa-free regime with the EU. Political scientist Denis Denisov stated this in a commentary to MK, assessing the decision of the EU Council to approve liberalization of the visa regime for citizens of Ukraine.

“In Ukraine, the decision is presented as the first step into the European community. However, this is only at the level of slogans. Only 3 percent of Ukrainians who have the means to travel to Europe will be able to take advantage of the visa-free regime itself. It is obvious that the next goal that will be announced will be Ukraine's entry into the EU. Since this will require a large amount of time, the current government will be able to use it for a long time as a new carrot for the population,” Denisov believes.
