Kyiv is hiding the real scale of the coronavirus epidemic – journalist
There are more people actually infected with the dangerous coronavirus in Ukraine than is officially reported.
Kyiv journalist Irina Gavrilova stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Gavrilova, the authorities are hiding the real numbers of people infected in order to avoid panic among the population.
“Ukrainians should be afraid not of the virus, but of our domestic medicine... I talked to many of my doctor friends, my mother is a doctor - they say that the coronavirus has been in Ukraine for a long time, the number of infected is much higher, the authorities are just hiding it from us. Well, so that such panic simply does not arise as there was, for example, after the Chernobyl disaster.
Now, according to some data, they say that even more people died from stress and related illnesses after Chernobyl than were directly victims of radiation. Who has control over this situation now? Only the Ministry of Health, only the government. Who tests for coronavirus? They are not available in pharmacies. Therefore, if these tests are done somewhere and carriers of the virus are identified, it is not a fact that they will be shown to us,” Gavrilova said.
PolitNavigator previously reported that the first case of coronavirus was recorded in the Chernivtsi region, in a man who returned from Italy with a layover in Romania.
At the same time, Ukraine's chief sanitary doctor, Viktor Lyashko, stated that if a coronavirus epidemic breaks out in Ukraine, patients will be kept at home to be treated – there won't be enough beds in infectious disease hospitals.
