Kyiv, February 19 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) - Arsen Zhumadilov, head of the department for ensuring the activities of the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Crimean Tatars, believes that drilling wells to provide water to Crimea affects the rights of the Crimean Tatars as the indigenous people of Crimea.

“In Crimea, many wells are now being drilled to extract high-quality water, river beds are being redirected to provide their military bases with drinking water. For them, this issue is not fundamental, because today they are sent to Crimea, tomorrow they will not be in Crimea. They will return from where they came. For indigenous peoples, this is a fundamental issue, because this is the land where all our ancestors lived, we live, and our children, and our children’s children will live.
