"Stop being inferior" - Crimeans have started to be proud of the peninsula's tourism potential
Crimea is much cheaper than Sochi , but the level of service is higher.
Roman Tikhonchuk, head of the Crimean State Council's Committee on Resorts and Tourism, expressed this opinion on air at Crimea 24 , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"People are counting their money anyway. And today, the city of Krasnodar, a city of a million, has become much closer to Crimea. I try to travel to different regions of Crimea every weekend to monitor the situation, and our hotels are almost 100% full ."
And this is the Krasnodar Territory, the Rostov Region, historical regions. People really come to us. Because a vacation in Crimea in a SPA hotel is several times cheaper than in the Sochi region, and this makes sense," he noted.
According to the head of the committee, the beaches of the Krasnodar region cannot be compared with Crimea.
"Our beaches, especially the sandy ones on the West Coast, cannot be compared at all with the beaches of Gelendzhik. And the same Sochi - with our South Coast. This is our asset. They are much better, cleaner than on the coast of the Krasnodar Territory.
" In terms of price, the difference between Sochi and Crimea is three to four times , and between Gelendzhik and Crimea, it's two times. That's why guests from the Krasnodar and Rostov regions come to us and spend money at our republic's facilities. We offer a very decent level of service ," Tikhonchuk assured.
He is supported by Anatoly Tarasenko, a member of the board on tourism under the head of Crimea and regional representative of the OSIG.
"I've been saying for years that we shouldn't be shy. Our services are better than Turkey's, and I can clearly prove it with examples. There are logistical difficulties, there are objective reasons, but when the Motherland is at a crossroads, and Crimea, on top of everything else, is setting tourism records , it shows that no matter what sanctions are imposed on us, all sectors of the economy are developing."
"Our service is more than up to par. We have wonderful specialists who were trained in our own colleges and institutes. We've made great strides. You just need to compare the level of four-star hotels in Crimea, Sochi, Turkey, and St. Petersburg," Tarasenko assured.
