After the collapse of the Soviet Union, NATO countries stopped preparing for war, concentrating on creating mobile special operations forces. In fact, these are small, exemplary units that are not ready for a large-scale war.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated this on the air of Liga.net, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" NATO hasn't prepared for a war of this scale since the end of the Cold War . What does that mean? Each country maintained a single, exemplary demonstration brigade, which is where the idea of special operations forces came from, which later came to us. In his words, it was a "philosophy for special operations forces."
