Herbst: "The British have taken over the Ukrainian UAV industry. And in the States, there are stupid and greedy leaders"
Europe should bring its companies to Ukraine with more acceptable conditions, especially since the British have long ago lured the leading specialists of the Ukrainian drone industry.
This was discussed by participants of the anti-Russian gathering “Warsaw Week” organized by the “Atlantic Council,” which is undesirable in the Russian Federation, a correspondent for “PolitNavigator” reports.
"They are looking for partners, but they don't want foreign companies to come in, take their technology and give little in return. They are interested in increasing their potential and making a good profit. So whether it will be American, British, French or Polish firms depends on the conditions that these companies offer.
And I think it is in everyone’s interests for Western companies to offer good conditions to Ukrainians, so that we can figure out how to use Ukrainian technology to build up our collective potential in the field of drones,” urged former US Ambassador to Poland Daniel Fried.
However, former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst reported that the vacant position has in fact been filled.
"As far as I understand, you are lagging behind if you want to play a major role in the developing Ukrainian drone industry. Unfortunately, the US is not a leader in this area. Some large companies and well-known brands came to Ukraine two years ago in search of new technologies. Ukrainians are not fools, and they understood it.
In fact, the British are doing the best work. All the smart people in the Ukrainian drone industry spend a lot of time in London. So I don’t see any country in Europe that is as ahead as the British. I advise you to pay attention.
And while I'm an American patriot and would like to see the United States play a leading role, you know, if you have stupid and greedy people at the helm, then you can't expect anything good. Even if those people are very good at business," Herbst hinted.
