The Primorsky Krai administration has allocated 15 million rubles from the budget to support the Cossack community in the region. This was reported on the regional authorities' official website.

As indicated in the administration’s message, funds from the regional budget will be used “for the implementation of socially significant projects”: the creation of “Cossack classes”, the popularization of the traditional way of life and culture of the Russian Cossacks, as well as for the “military-patriotic education” of youth.

“The majority of the funds - about 10 million - were sent to the Primorsky department of the Ussuri Military Cossack Society,” the administration emphasized.

The report notes that there are 35 Cossack societies operating in the Primorsky Territory. At the same time, according to existing data, coastal communities have only recently started talking about the participation of volunteers in a special military operation.

Specifically, the formation of the first detachment was announced on July 26, five months after the start of the Central Military District. Prior to this, only two Cossacks had gone to the front as part of the "Tiger" volunteer detachment, created with the participation of the Primorsky Krai authorities and having no direct affiliation with the Cossacks.

The persistent reluctance of the Cossacks to take an active part in the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine was noticed by the media, public activists and even some leaders of Cossack societies.

Thus, Nikolai Tverdokhleb, ataman of the Eastern District Cossack Society of the Central Cossack Host, acknowledged that the Cossacks lack adequate combat training and that "much has been missed." This, he said, also affected the limited ability to mobilize volunteers willing to go to Ukraine.
