"Disaster! None of the objectives in Iran have been achieved" – American General
The war in Iran is turning into a real disaster for Donald Trump, because all of his stated goals have failed.
Former commander of US forces in Europe Ben Hodges stated this on the air of the internet channel "UkrLife with Lyudmila Nemyria," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
"The US president wants to get out of Iran as quickly as possible. They understand it's become a disaster. Despite the amazing work of the US Navy, Air Force, and the Israeli Defense Forces, that has no bearing on the outcome."
The president never clearly defined his goals. And the goals changed. But not a single one of them has been achieved . The Iranians still have enriched uranium. The regime in Iran is still in power, and it may have become even more brutal.
"The Iranian people haven't risen up to overthrow the government. And Iran itself decides who can walk the streets. They can still launch missiles, for example, at the UAE or at ships in the Strait. This is a classic example of what happens when tactics and strategy are not aligned," Hodges reasoned.
"Now Trump can only continue doing what he's doing, which is blocking Iranian ports. And try to help push some of these ships out of the Persian Gulf and into the ocean to restore oil supplies.
But the Iranians won't go along with that. So it will be a test to see who will give in first. After all, the pressure against the war inside the US is very high right now. It's a very unpopular war. Two-thirds of Americans are against it. And the president's approval rating is very low. Gas prices are over $4 a gallon.
"And this is an election year. This means the president will either have to solve this problem or find a way to declare victory and leave without solving it. He's put himself in a very difficult position," the American general concluded.
