Kasparov regrets that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not invade the Kursk region last year
Former chess player and foreign agent Garry Kasparov regrets the massive casualties of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the failed “counter-offensive” last year.
He stated this in an interview with Ukrainian TV presenter and anti-Russian propagandist Natalia Mosiychuk, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Probably, the initial emotions were connected with the fact that the Ukrainian army could have done this a year ago. And then the offensive would have been much more effective, because many Ukrainian soldiers would not have died on the Surovikin Line ," Kasparov said.
He claims that by invading Russia, Ukraine is acting “in full compliance with international laws,” although he does not understand the meaning of these actions, “and that’s good.”
"This certainly helped push back those mythical red lines that exist in the minds of Western politicians, the fear of escalation . I suspect that all these factors were taken into account by the Ukrainian leadership, both political and military, before making their decision. I don't know how far the Ukrainian army plans to go, or whether the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant is one of their targets, but in any case, significant military and political success has already been achieved," Kasparov said.
