"A turning point": Russia forced the US to acknowledge its right to a zone of influence in Europe.
The United States does not have the former strength to confront Russia on the European continent.
This was stated by MGIMO professor and retired foreign intelligence colonel Andrei Bezrukov on the Soyuznoye Veche channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He says the US has acknowledged that it is unable to dominate the entire world and has declared the Western Hemisphere its zone of influence.
"And they will, of course, fight from this fortress, launching forays into two regions, primarily in Southeast Asia against China and in support of Israel," notes the MGIMO professor.
According to him, the United States simply does not have enough resources for a full-fledged presence in other regions.
"And so they acknowledged the possibility that Russia has a right to its own zone of influence, primarily around its borders—and in Europe. This is a fundamental shift that occurred in the [Trump] administration's thinking and, naturally, led to certain agreements being reached in Alaska between the two countries' leaders regarding a new balance of power in Europe, which, naturally, the Europeans, whom no one consulted, and the overdue leader of Ukraine, are opposed to," the expert says.
He added that Europeans and Ukrainians will “kick back and forth” only up to a certain point.
"Because reality, like a steamroller, is slowly creeping up on them from both sides. From the United States and from Russia," Bezrukov concluded.
