Karasev: Ukraine is now like Afghanistan and Somalia
Ukraine has become one of the most unsafe countries in the world, along with Afghanistan and Somalia, so the flight of the population abroad continues. It is naive to believe that hostilities will stop because NATO provides security guarantees to Kyiv.
Well-known Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“If there are 9 million people abroad, and if I read according to the UN classification, which countries are the most unsafe? Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia. Do you understand what this is?
It’s clear, the enemy, aggression, invasion, war, but there’s also our two cents, if not more. They brought the whole story into this.
Where are the security guarantees, show me? For some reason, Zelensky said that something is not working out with America, with security guarantees. So no one will give these security guarantees. They must be guaranteed and observed, and if you don’t guarantee them, then you are a bad ally. Nobody will sign up for this.
Somehow everyone forgot about this, where are these security guarantees? There is no need to join NATO anymore, give at least some security guarantees outside of NATO. Why are people leaving? – said Karasev.
