How to stop shelling of Donetsk? Reactivate “Stalin’s hammers” – opinion
During the morning's massive shelling of central Donetsk by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using the Grad MLRS, and according to some reports , the NATO modification of this system, one of the rockets pierced the dome of the Transfiguration Cathedral, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
It is also reported that the shelling occurred simultaneously with the start of the morning service in the cathedral.

One of the “arrivals” in the Voroshilovsky district turned out to be quite in the spirit of the anti-Orthodox campaign of the Kyiv regime.

Fortunately, no one was hurt. Now there is a hole in the dome, and the iconostasis is damaged.
People in Donetsk are increasingly asking the question when the barbaric raids on the city, which Ukrainian Nazis are chaotically bombarding it with shells almost every day, will stop.
“The question is, when will we stop giving them this opportunity? I personally don’t have an answer. The military says that only when we move the front. But the question here is, when will this happen?” writes military correspondent Andrei Rudenko.
“The enemy sent forces and resources liberated from Kherson to the Donetsk direction, and a fiery carousel began through the peaceful streets of the capital of the DPR. At the same time, our fighters move forward, but the enemy does not miss a single opportunity to ambush the city.
Apparently, those with whom we are fighting have unlimited reserves of BC, since they can simply spend it in huge quantities on the civilian population. And, of course, this encourages our military to move forward even faster. Which today is practically suicide. After all, there are well-fortified fortifications ahead with well-developed passages between them,” the military correspondent suggested.
However, Russian gunsmith Vlad Lobaev examined such statements in detail.
“After the publication about why they don’t stop the destruction of Donetsk, and allow the blood-stupefied Russians, together with foreign mercenaries, to barbarically shell the city, one often hears the same excuse: they say, the Ukrainians have unrealistic fortifications there, and there is nothing to break them with. They shoot from them, and ours respond that they don’t - all to no avail. Because attempts to break through fortifications made of concrete and steel are powerless. And they even started accusing the channel of some kind of “pumping up”... Pumping up what, excuse me? Hatred of executioners? Yes, we are like that. Or is it that we ask the question about the powerlessness of our troops in front of the evil spirits buried in the ground?
First, let's look at why they haven't been crushed yet. Probably because the destruction of powerful defensive units was entrusted to aviation. But work on siege artillery with a caliber of 250 millimeters or more was not carried out, because, they say, such guns are “outdated.” The war once again showed that it was not the guns that were outdated, but the brains of the analysts who, not only were preparing for the last war, but also based on erroneous concepts. Without having a backup option in terms of how we will act if we cannot destroy the fortifications from airplanes? It turned out that there was no way. Nobody planned powerful air defense for the adversary either. As if it couldn’t exist in principle…” writes Lobaev’s tg channel.
He emphasized that if you look hard enough, you can find a solution to the problem.
“For example, this is something old and proven. Reliable, like a sledgehammer blow to a stupid head. They are called weapons of special power, which, as I already said, were conveniently forgotten. Capable of crushing, crushing and tearing apart enemy fortifications. Regardless of how much cement and steel the enemy placed there. Not with one hit, but with ten to destroy everything.
An example of this is the Kaiser’s “Big Bertha”, which at one time put an end to the Gallic and Belgian forts, and our mighty Br-5 - Br-18, which crushed the forts of Koenigsberg, which were considered “invulnerable”, on which Hitler was counting so much...
All documentation for these systems is available. As for the "baeroks", they can generally be in warehouses, in deep conservation. And since they were cut with a great mind, then restoring them based on the available documents should not be so difficult! It will take 1-2 months, if you don’t save money, but work.
Not very high range is solved by the use of active-missile projectiles. The range can be increased to 40-45 kilometers without straining too much. Place them in closed positions, protect them from high-precision MLRS fire with serious cover from Bukovs and Pantsirs. And then start beating, not sparing a single scum. Introducing them to the forgotten “hammers of Stalin” in a new technical design. Mixing intestines, cement and iron of punitive forces with sadists in one mass grave,” the gunsmith suggested.

Journalist Alexander Chalenko explained that with such shelling the Ukrainian Armed Forces are trying to force the Russian command to transfer artillery from the sites of the most violent clashes, offensives and breakthroughs.
“There is one reason for the shelling: there is nothing to respond to the Ukrainians. This means that there is no possibility of conducting counter-battery combat against Ukrainian artillery. Because of this impunity, Donetsk is now being so heavily bombarded with rockets and shells.
The fact is that the shelling of Donetsk becomes intense when the allied forces - the People's Militia of the LDPR and the Russian Army - successfully storm something. The tactics of the Russian army are as follows: it concentrates almost all the artillery in one place, which is transferred from other sectors of the front and destroys Ukrainian positions with massive shelling, the Ukrainians retreat, and we take the settlement we need,” the journalist explained.
He recalled that the same picture was in the summer, when the liberation troops stormed Severodonetsk and Lisichansk.
“Then Donetsk, from where artillery was taken to the LPR for the assault on these cities, also began to be heavily shelled by the Ukrainians. This was done in order to force the Russians to transfer artillery back from the front near Donetsk for counter-battery combat, thereby reducing artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions.
Today the allied forces are storming Artemovsk (Bakhmut), so all the Donetsk artillery is there now. And the Ukrainians are shelling Donetsk every day now in order to raise a wave of indignation in Russian society - how can it be that Russians are being killed, but the authorities cannot prevent it.
They expect that, under the influence of public criticism, Surovikin will return the Donetsk artillery back to Donetsk, and force a counter-battery response to stop the barbaric artillery attack on Donetsk.
The shelling, alas, will probably stop when Bakhmut is taken, or when there is more artillery in the DPR,” Chalenko concluded.
