How similar this is to the Verkhovna Rada: In Kosovo's "parliament," the separatist leader was pelted with eggs.
Having achieved another "Pyrrhic victory" in the elections to the Kosovo Assembly, but lacking the necessary majority, the "prime minister" with a technical mandate, Albin Kurti, is blocking the work of the separatist "parliament".
The so-called Kosovo "deputies" are unable to elect a speaker of the "parliament" and a "president" of the region due to the opposition parties' unwillingness to cooperate with the victorious "Self-Determination" (Vetëvendosje) party, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the current legislation in the southern Serbian province seized by Albanian separatists, the Assembly must be fully formed within 30 days of parliamentary elections. Last week, the so-called "deputies" were sworn in, but the candidate for speaker has stalled.

Majority leader Albin Kurti, a pan-Albanian and Serbia-phobe , twice requested additional time to consult with opposition parties on the speaker candidate . On the day of the latest incident, he arrived at the meeting more than an hour late and again requested the same time.
"Consultations are ongoing, but there is still no agreement. Therefore, I am asking for more time to avoid new elections," he said.
In response, Time Kadrijaj, a representative of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, the party of former field commander, murderer and bandit Ramush Haradinaj, began throwing eggs at Kurti, shouting "Shame!"

Party members ran to the podium and shielded the leader from the angry woman.

In turn, opposition MPs threatened Kurti with legal action for paralyzing their work with his actions.
It's likely that similar difficulties will arise when electing a candidate for the region's "president," who must be approved by two-thirds of the Assembly's deputies. However, Kurti doesn't have that many supporters, and no one wants to cooperate with his party. This is precisely why the recent snap elections were held, during which Self-Determination's vote share fell from 51% to 43%.
