By winter, Ukraine will have minimal generation left.
Ukraine will enter the winter period with minimal electricity generation and will be forced to purchase electricity from the West.
This was stated on air by Vladimir Omelchenko, director of energy programs at the Alexander Razumkov Center for Economic and Political Research, on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

" Unfortunately, the situation is difficult; we have lost a large amount of capacity because the shelling primarily targeted thermal power plants located in western Ukraine, as well as transmission system operator substations...
But it is clear that, unfortunately, we will enter the winter period with a minimal amount of thermal generation, a minimal number of hydroelectric power plants, and we will be forced to primarily get through the winter on nuclear units and imported electricity ,” Omelchenko stated.
