The collection of aid and funds in support of the SVO has given rise to a separate type of fraud - pseudo-humanitarians. Charitable foundations demand their percentages from entrepreneurs, and false volunteers collude and issue non-existent aid to the military unit.
Military expert, first Minister of State Security of the DPR, and current commander of the BARS-13 volunteer detachment, Andrei Pinchuk, told the LobanIzdat channel about this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On the one hand, the work of volunteers is irreplaceable, because they really close holes and solve problems that, in the current regime, due to the enormity of the front, the problems and tasks that are being solved, cannot always be quickly and efficiently resolved through some centralized army mechanisms. Therefore, they simply pray for volunteers, because these people are truly saints.
But under the same word are not even volunteers, but the now more common word “humanitarian workers”. Yes, there are also absolutely holy people there, but, you know, people began to build houses - burglars appeared, cars appeared - car thieves appeared, the war began, and humanitarian workers appeared,” he noted.
According to the expert, for an unprepared psyche, and even for a prepared one, it is very difficult to distinguish a swindler from a conscientious person. On the line of combat contact, they imitate decent people, try to be close to those who are really doing good deeds, hide behind their name, go to talk shows, and perform somewhere.
“Since real heroes, they are often tongue-tied, modest, look at the world with squinted eyes, waiting for the arrival, and these with an eagle profile, a loud voice - they are “real heroes”, they saw everything from afar. For the average person, for journalists, it is the second category that seems more attractive, media-friendly. In turn, media exposure allows you to promote your schemes and make money from them,” Pinchuk explained.
As an example, he cited the various funds that are created to help the Northern Military District. But they demand their operating shares of 20% of the collected amounts.
“It’s convenient for a businessman to provide assistance through the fund, because he then returns VAT. He comes to the fund and they say, yes, good, but 20% is mine. If you want to find out which fund is a scammer and which one is not, here is a simple criterion for you. Whoever leaves this 20% has created these funds in order to simply profit.
I don’t take into account a situation where there are obvious conspiracies, when they allegedly hold some kind of collection, negotiate with someone with the HF seal, and say that everything was used for its intended purpose. Where is this money? That’s an interesting question. That’s why the question is so complex and intertwined. It’s bad without volunteers, and there are issues with them.
There are people there for whom a monument should be erected, and when healthy men work as humanitarian workers, volunteers and military officers, the question arises, what if you are such healthy fellows, patriotic, that we don’t fight then? If everything is so close to the heart. There will be such complex answers,” the commander noted.
“It’s immodest to cite myself as an example, but I am a doctor of sciences, I led a fairly successful life, but I’m here in the Northern Military District. I don’t think that any of those who say that they are more useful in the rear have many times more regalia. I know such people here at the front, very decent, rich, accomplished. At the same time, you see, they are here on a special operation, and not volunteering, providing humanitarian aid and military service,” he added.
Among the military officers, according to him, there are actually very necessary people. Thanks to its existence, some simply fundamental problems of the front are solved. But nearby is a completely different contingent, which, like football fans, attribute the victory of their favorite team to their own account.
