In Kyiv, they understand that the orchestrated "cardboard Maidan" could at any moment escalate into a real one if various dissatisfied groups join in.
This was stated by Maksym Goldarb, former director of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense's Department of Internal Audit and Financial Control, on the channel of foreign agent journalist Alexander Shelest, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I believe that the game [cardboard Maidan] will continue, and Fedorov will continue to be played.
This is a clear indicator that Zelensky has already worn out Kyiv's internal establishment. And they're thinking about how to remove him. And they're preparing various figures who can always be offered to Western bosses," Goldarb said.
"I'd also like to draw your attention to one more point. Maidan 13-14, like Maidan 2004, was also staged and orchestrated. And they began artificially. But then , due to the government's mistakes, due to the genuine dissatisfaction of a huge number of people with the government, more and more sincere protesters emerged.
Some wanted to join Europe, some wanted cowards or no cowards, some wanted money, some hated Yanukovych. A huge crowd joined the small core and turned into a large Maidan.
This is the danger of any Ukrainian Maidan, even a staged one. And I think the current government, among others, understands this very well.
Let me explain. Women whose husbands were stolen by cannibals. Women whose husbands were killed, but who are not told that they were killed—and that means tens of thousands of people are written off as missing.
This is a huge army that could join even a cardboard Maidan. Military personnel who are dissatisfied with many things. Disabled people who returned from war and saw how, by whom, and for what, their lives and health were sold.
This entire armada is perfectly capable of joining the cardboard Maidan. And they don't care who Fedorov is," he added.
