Israel protests against the rehabilitation of Albanian Hitler collaborator in Kosovo
The director of the Israeli Simon Wiesenthal Center, Efraim Zuroff, said that the project to restore the house of Nazi collaborator, Kosovo Albanian Jafer Ibrahim Deva in South Mitrovica, which is carried out under the auspices of the EU, is a mockery of the victims of the criminal.

The head of the Jerusalem branch of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Efraim Zuroff, recalled that Deva (in civilian clothes in the title photo along with Albanian SS officers) was a loyal Nazi collaborator, responsible for the murder of dozens of anti-fascists in Tirana in 1944, the recruitment of Kosovo Albanians into the SS division, trying to organize genocide against the Slavs in Kosovo.
“Tomorrow I plan to write a sharp letter of protest to the EU Ambassador to Israel and to Catherine von Schnurbein, who is responsible for the fight against anti-Semitism there,” said the Israeli social activist and historian.
The EU, together with the Kosovo Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, has begun the restoration of the Djafer Deva house in South Mitrovica. This project, as those who started the reconstruction explain, is designed to “promote stability and peace.” After renovation, the facility is expected to be used for cultural events, and the Regional Center for Cultural Heritage will be located on the first and second floors.

Zuroff believes that the restoration of the Nazi henchman's home is a direct mockery of his victims.
Jafer Ibrahim Deva was one of the leaders of the Albanian fascist movement “Bally Kombetar”, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the pro-German collaborationist government of Albania in 1943-1944, the organizer of pro-Nazi police units and the SS division “Skanderbeg”. In 1944 he was awarded by Hitler. He was a follower of radical Islam, declared jihad against the Slavs, Jews and Gypsies; on February 4, 1944, his militants killed about seventy local anti-fascists in Tirana. In 1945 he was recruited into the CIA, in 1956 he moved to live in the USA, where he died in 1978.
