The publication recalls that after the collapse of the USSR and the declassification of two objects in Mount Tavros in Balaklava, Ukraine decided to create a museum on this site, where it collected exhibits from all former military units.
“In the best traditions of Ukrainian pseudohistory, a kind of ersatz exhibition about Soviet preparations for nuclear war was put together in the dungeons, heavily diluting a set of random exhibits from torn apart Soviet military units with Ukrainian symbols. The “museum” lacks the main thing - the logic of events and historical facts,” notes Flag of the Motherland.
Now the museum’s exposition has been significantly cleaned up of Ukrainian heritage and provided with real exhibits of the Soviet past.
“Everything started to change dramatically. The musty nationalist spirit was taken out into the fresh air, replaced by a completely different approach that the Balaklava and Sevastopol residents were waiting for. On the basis of two objects and the Mikhailovsky battery attached to them, the Military Historical Museum of Sevastopol fortifications was created. Today, the adits appear in the list of cultural and historical sites of Crimea as the “Balaklava Underground Museum Complex,” the newspaper notes.
