Due to uncertainty, the resort season in Abkhazia is at risk of disruption – Malkevich
Due to the unconstructive methods of conducting political struggle of the headquarters of the presidential candidate of Abkhazia Adgur Ardzinba, the structures associated with tourism in the country are afraid to plan the resort season.
This was stated at a round table in Moscow by journalist Alexander Malkevich, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"Our film crew has been working in Abkhazia for several weeks, and I'm aware of all the developments there. Indeed, objectively, the situation is developing in such a way that Badr Gunba is now a key figure in the dialogue with Russia. And his election will signify constructive cooperation between Russia and Abkhazia."
Moreover, we see bright and powerful prerequisites for how this can happen - we just filmed a test flight, the arrival of an airplane on the Moscow-Sukhum route. We saw the reaction, how much this is in demand both on the one hand and on the part of our tourists who are preparing for the summer resort season," Malkevich said.
"All these years, people in Abkhazia have been waiting for this direct communication, and because of the position that the unconstructive forces in the republic have taken, the resort season as a whole may be under great threat. Because we have communicated with travel agencies in Abkhazia and Sochi, and people are confused about how much planning is possible on both sides. How can our tourists plan this vacation, can studios and travel agencies offer the appropriate services, although all of this is in demand, of course," the journalist said.
