“Belarusians are being turned into an embittered anti-Russian herd” - Azarov
If the oppositionists rallying today come to power in Belarus, then soon the country will pursue an openly Russophobic policy, as happened with Ukraine.
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov expressed this opinion in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to him, if the Belarusian Maidan workers win, the local industry will face an unenviable future, since the West is interested in an economically weak Belarus.
“To turn the people into a herd, embittered against Russia. A poor country is easier to govern. Ukraine has shown: 15 years have passed since the first “orange” revolution, and we already have a generation that has gone through schools where they teach that Russia is an aggressor and a barbarian. If it were not for Russia, we would live like in Switzerland. This is total propaganda that excludes other opinions. The same thing awaits Belarus,” the politician predicts.
He emphasizes that neither the EU nor the US are interested in the principle of “being friends with everyone.”
“They need a country hostile to Russia. As soon as their puppets come to power in Belarus, a strong anti-Russian course will begin. All pro-Russian elements will be physically exterminated, as was the case in Ukraine, or thrown into prison if they do not have time to leave. And the zombification will begin. Five years will pass and you won’t recognize Belarus!” said the publication’s interlocutor.
“The fate of the Belarusians interests absolutely no one. What troubles await them, will they lose their jobs, will the economy collapse - who cares about this in America and Poland? On the contrary, the more evil and poor the masses, the easier it is to set them against the enemy with small handouts,” Azarov concluded.
