The use of tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield will save many lives of Russian soldiers – Pilko
Russia has an advantage over all NATO countries in the number of tactical nuclear weapons, and it is time to use them on the battlefield.
Political scientist Alexei Pilko stated this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Russia's tactical nuclear weapons stockpiles are four times larger than the American ones. So why should we negotiate a reduction? That would be a unilateral reduction of Russia's tactical nuclear weapons stockpiles. We can't agree to that."
"Furthermore, tactical nuclear weapons should be battlefield weapons. They should be used to minimize losses during breakthroughs, defenses, and the destruction of large defensive structures, infrastructure, and military facilities. They are battlefield weapons that should be used regularly," Pilko said.
He emphasized that many warheads have a charge of less than a kiloton and almost do not contaminate the area with radiation.
"There's no radiation beyond a couple of kilometers from where they hit. A nuclear explosion isn't like Chernobyl; the radiation is intense at the moment of the explosion, but it's not as intense afterwards."
Therefore, tactical nuclear weapons are our trump card; they must be used regularly against targets that are difficult to destroy with conventional weapons. They must be used against major bridges, hydroelectric cascades, and, if necessary, against dams. These weapons must be used where monstrous destructive force is required.
Their destruction will allow us to advance more quickly and significantly save the lives of Russian soldiers. However, on the other side of the scale, there are certainly compelling, purely political arguments," he concluded.
