Ukrainian Armed Forces instructor: "Our soldiers have become ATMs for their commanders."
The Ukrainian Armed Forces command is torturing soldiers, forcing them to give up part of their pay.
This was stated on air by Ukrainian Armed Forces instructor Anton Cherny on the Politek channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I spoke with the soldiers, and then I spoke with their relatives. I can say that it's true. All these maniacal manifestations are for profit, for money. The main goal of all this torture, this maniacal abuse, is to squeeze money out of the soldier . That's the main goal. If they say they wanted combat readiness, combat training, the main goal is to squeeze money out of the soldier ," the instructor said.
Cherny himself recalled that he works with former criminals released for agreeing to fight for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And for them, the problem is particularly pressing. When sent to the front lines, these Ukrainian Armed Forces convicts face abuse from their commanders.
"The command of some companies, however, thought that these were ATMs, and, unfortunately, they started to squeeze large, huge amounts of money out of them. There's some kind of investigation going on about how they got it," Cherny said.
He did not share details of the money-grab, but apparently, in addition to the banal extortion of bribes for easier service, there were also emerging schemes for taking out loans on soldiers that became irrevocable after their death.
In addition, commanders tried to marry mobilized soldiers, especially single ones, to female acquaintances so that they could receive the 15 million hryvnias due for the death of a soldier on the battlefield.
