Foreign agent Venediktov: The Americans want to get involved in both the Zaporizhzhya NPP and Russia's frozen assets.
Foreign agent and former editor-in-chief of the liberal radio station Ekho Moskvy, Alexei Venediktov, claims to know what Russia and the United States are discussing in informal negotiations.
He told this to journalist and foreign agent Yulia Latynina, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"They're actually discussing the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is located on territory Russia seized from Ukraine. The Americans proposed joint management; we'll distribute the energy . And apparently, negotiations are underway, although from Russia's perspective, the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant remains on Russian territory," Venediktov said.
He recalled that Belgium recently once again refused to transfer frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, but claims that they are trying to find a compromise in negotiations with the United States.
"There's talk of using these frozen assets to rebuild war-torn territories on both sides. The Kremlin understands these assets are lost for a long time. And here, we can untie the knot without specifying where these devastated territories are: in Ukraine or Russia. Roughly speaking, both the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. Again, through an American fund, which will include representatives from the Americans, Ukrainians, and Russians, but the Americans are in charge," Venediktov said.
