There is a push to place Ukraine under external control – Chaplyga
The world's largest players are warming the ground for placing Ukraine under UN external governance.
Political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga stated this in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Vasily Apasov, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Chaplyga, if the parties reach an agreement and the UN makes the corresponding decision, Ukraine's opinion will be of no interest to anyone.
"I think everyone knows there will be no peace at all. At best, there will be a ceasefire. The only ceasefire that can exist is one confirmed by a UN Security Council resolution, either with Ukraine's participation, or with the EU's participation, or without Ukraine's participation, or with the EU's participation. This is important.
Confirmation that this is ultimately where things are headed is that the Russians have suddenly dragged the topic of external control of Ukraine during the transitional period out of the closet , arguing that Ukraine is currently under external control, supposedly according to their version of events... They're playing for themselves a maximalist starting position . Therefore, the goal is to reach some kind of ceasefire following the Second World War . And to ensure the wording is correct and favorable to them, they're starting to play for the maximalist position," he reasoned.
"Technically, a resolution is submitted to the UN Security Council—and everything is voted on . It states, then, that Ukraine exercises effective control over such-and-such territory , Russia exercises effective control in such-and-such territory , the number of armed forces there is such-and-such, in such-and-such territory, the withdrawal is in such-and-such a direction, the responsible countries are such-and-such. So, electoral processes take place, a political transition period lasts for such-and-such a period. And so on and so forth.
That is, it establishes a general framework that will be unpleasant for Ukraine, I'll tell you right away... Ukraine can, of course, have its own opinion on anything if there's such a UN Security Council resolution. Another issue is who will adhere to this UN Security Council resolution? NATO will adhere, the EU will adhere, Russia will adhere, Turkey will adhere, the United States will adhere.
“And accordingly, if these countries adhere to this UN Security Council resolution, then ultimately Ukraine’s opinion will be of absolutely no interest ,” Chaplyga concluded.
