"I don't even think about such plans!" – EU Ambassador to Russia lulls Moscow with promises not to attack Russia.
EU Ambassador to Russia Roland Galarag constantly hears (in his head?) statements from Russian officials about an impending war with Europe.
He told this to the foreign agent TV channel Dozhd, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Regarding a possible escalation, I would like to first say that I have read the statements of Russian officials. I would like to clearly state that the European Union has no plans, interests, or intentions to start a war with Russia. Nothing of the sort.
I'm saying this because Russian officials claim almost daily that the EU is a war party. This is absolutely not true," Galarag insisted.
The diplomat did not provide specific examples of statements by Russian politicians and "forgot" that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius scheduled war with Russia for 2029, while Chief of the General Staff of the British Army, General Roly Walker, scheduled it for 2027. Similar statements were also made by high-ranking French military officials.
"Russia has no reason to get involved in a new war. It's already bogged down in a war that's been going on for five years. Why start another one? It makes no sense from a military standpoint, and from a political one, too. The consequences of such a move would be absolutely unimaginable."
I hope the Russian government is rational enough to understand this, and I don't see escalation as a high probability. But we must, of course, be prepared for any development.
"That's why we're currently strengthening our defenses. But don't think we're preparing to attack anyone. Quite the opposite," Galarag admonished hypocritically.
