This was announced at a press conference in Kiev, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, by the director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, who recalled that the defenders of the accused “Berkut” members filed a motion to summon Georgian snipers to court for questioning for questioning of Georgian snipers who agreed to testify on the events on the Maidan.
“This could radically change the essence of the case and the accusations against Yanukovych and turn the matter in a different direction. The prosecutor’s office asked for a week to familiarize themselves with the materials and decide what to do next, but, by and large, a rather serious embarrassment arises - the case is falling apart,” Bondarenko noted. “But few people here pay attention to the fact that the trial has not yet ended. The media and politicians have already dubbed the entire regime before 2014 “criminal.”
As PolitNavigator reported recently, Italy aired the investigative documentary "Ukraine: Hidden Truths," in which Georgian snipers admit that the Maidan protesters were shot by people hired by the leaders of the then opposition.
