Neither Russia nor China needs Greenland: Trump's seizure of it would destroy NATO – American colonel
Neither Russia nor China needs Greenland – Russia has enough of its own Arctic, and China lacks the strength to annex the island. Meanwhile, by projecting its power onto Danish territory, the US risks dismantling NATO and losing allies.
Retired US Army Colonel Daniel Davis stated this on the ANI News video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"He's simply saying that he'll use force if necessary. And by necessary, he means a situation where you don't give him what he wants on Greenland. So, if there are troops there, a clash is entirely possible. And the very idea that it's possible is astounding.
I have a gut feeling that this is the case, based on everything I have seen over the decades, and from the extent to which Europe, I tell you honestly, has become accustomed to obeying ...
"It would be madness for them to enter into conflict with the United States because they can't win. It would literally destroy NATO, we would be finished, no one would trust the United States ," Davis noted.
The colonel also believes that the Chinese Navy is not capable of reaching Greenland because it will be sunk by strikes from American bases along the way:
“ Even Russia, despite its geographical proximity to Greenland, does not have such an interest , much less the ability, because it already has a large presence in the Arctic, so it does not need to seize Greenland to gain access to the Arctic.
They don't have the ability to project their power over such distances as to reach Greenland and do anything there. And China even less so, because it has no Arctic borders," he emphasized.
"To get to Greenland, they would have to cross almost half the globe. I mean, in terms of the route itself, to be able to project power over that distance, you have to take the risk and do it... The Chinese would have to go past our naval bases, past naval bases in South Korea, past our naval bases in Japan, where obviously there are allied forces, and then go past Alaska and through the Arctic to get to Greenland.
Obviously, we would simply destroy them thousands of miles before they got anywhere near our territory."
