Talk about peace, but don’t agree to its terms – Ukrainian political scientist explains Kyiv’s cunning plan
The Ukrainian government should not agree to the loss of territory, but it needs to show a willingness to negotiate and declare a desire for peace.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on air on PolitExpert, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
" Society wants to hear about peace, to hear hope for an end to the war. Sociology clearly shows this: 69 to 80% of Ukrainians support an end to hostilities. Therefore, if our politicians don't talk about peace being near, they're unpopular; no one wants to hear them."
Moreover, we must demonstrate a willingness to negotiate peace agreements and agreements, in front of Trump himself, in front of the watching world. Because we can already see that Trump is showing considerable irritation with Ukraine's attempts to negotiate and wrest some of its positions.
