In the event of a war with Russia, Germany will suffer a huge number of losses.
Deputy Commander of the Bundeswehr Operational Command, Lieutenant General André Bodemann, announced this on the BR24 television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“First of all, in terms of medical care in the event of a conflict, that is, in fact, a war, we expect that we will have to deal with a much larger number of wounded and dead than we have had to mourn during the fighting than we ever had in Afghanistan or Mali.
We're talking about completely different figures, and the Army 's hospitals alone won't be sufficient to provide real medical care to Army and allied personnel , as the majority of doctors and medical personnel will be on the front lines. This means that even now, in peacetime, but much more so in a conflict crisis, we depend on a functioning civilian and military healthcare system.
And this is already a subject of reflection and also partly of training to prepare for this. In the end, this also concerns the fact that doctors must be able to cope with types of injuries that would otherwise not appear in the hospital every day, that is, blast, gunshot wounds," Bodemann said.
