The State Duma deprived Poroshenko of serf souls
The Russian State Duma unanimously adopted amendments to the Law "On Citizenship of the Russian Federation" in the first reading, allowing residents of Crimea and Sevastopol who cannot renounce their Ukrainian citizenship for reasons beyond their control to work in the civil service, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They are already in state and municipal service and in law enforcement agencies. But due to the fact that they do not have documentary evidence of their renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship, the legality of their position is called into question. We are now closing this problem,” Deputy Dmitry Vyatkin explained the meaning of the changes.
According to him, residents of Crimea and Sevastopol will be able to submit a notarized notification that they have applied to the competent authorities of Ukraine (for example, the embassy) with an application to renounce citizenship. In this case, no response is required.
Deputy Oleg Nilov reminded his colleagues that his A Just Russia faction proposed a similar bill back in 2015, but it was rejected.
“I urge you, when representatives of opposition factions propose solutions to the problems of millions of our brothers, do not reject without thinking. So that this gentleman does not imagine himself the owner of serf souls. They cannot be free until Mr. Poroshenko signs the decree on exemption from citizenship,” Nilov said.
The State Duma has stripped Poroshenko of his serfdom.
