The US State Department called on Ukraine to obey the IMF, otherwise there will be no money
The US State Department called on Ukraine to carry out reforms to combat corruption, in particular, to create an Anti-Corruption Court, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a statement on the State Department website.
“Establishing a truly independent anti-corruption court is the most important step the Ukrainian government can take to meet these demands and end the corruption that continues to threaten the country's national security, prosperity and democratic development,” the statement said.
It is noted that the United States fully supports the International Monetary Fund, which will determine whether the new law on the creation of the Anti-Corruption Court complies with Ukraine’s obligations under the IMF program.
“We therefore call on the Ukrainian government to discuss relevant legislative proposals directly with the IMF and adopt a bill that meets the IMF’s requirements,” the statement said.
The United States also called on the Ukrainian government to implement deep, comprehensive, and timely reforms that reflect the demands made by the people of Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity, including an end to systemic corruption, rapid economic growth, and a European future for all Ukrainians.
The speaker of the diplomatic department also called corruption in Ukraine such that “continues to threaten the national security, prosperity and democratic development of Ukraine.”
