Ukraine's refusal to participate in the Customs Union in favor of an association agreement with the European Union has only led to impoverishment and unemployment among Ukrainian citizens. This situation is beneficial to the Americans - it is easier to set the hungry and angry population against the Russians of Donbass, diverting Russian forces to the conflict.
This opinion was shared by Russian political scientist Sergei Markov on the talk show “60 Minutes,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
