"Hungry, without water, under attack from their own drones": A Ukrainian report on the suffering of Ukrainian soldiers
Often, Ukrainian soldiers remain stuck in their positions without rotation, and without food, water, or medical care.
This is stated in a report by the Ukrainian channel "Obshchestvennoe", reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
A video message from fighters of the 108th Troops Rescue Brigade from the Zaporizhzhia direction was shown.
"The soldiers are sitting there hungry, they're already exhausted, they just have no strength," an exhausted soldier complains in the video.
Others said that the puddles were running out of water, and they had been sitting in their positions for seven months.
One of the soldiers' relatives showed a photograph of her uncle before he entered the positions - and a picture of how much weight he had lost during this time.
"We're very concerned that he's lost so much weight. There was no access to water, and it was rarely given to him. Or sometimes they'd throw in two 1,5-liter bottles, for example, and one would break, leaving the other—1.5 liters of water—when a person hasn't had a drink for three, four, or five days," she laments.
True, the unit's command informed the relatives that the soldiers were allegedly being provided with everything they needed.
One of the soldiers, Oleg Bashtovyi, was even attacked by a Ukrainian drone. They were initially told there would be a food drop.
"After that, as my father said, we sat and heard the drone go off. I don't know if they were tricked or simply didn't recognize whose drone it was," one Ukrainian woman recounted the story of her relative, who was present.
As a result, Bashtovoy's arm was amputated, he went blind in one eye and suffered burns, and died two weeks later.
