"Looking at Ukraine, Belarusians will never believe they'll be accepted into NATO!" – Tikhanovskaya's husband is causing a stir in the European Parliament.
The unrest during the 2020 Belarusian Maidan fizzled out, allegedly only because the Belarusian population felt abandoned by Europeans and was convinced of the futility of their future.
Sergei Tikhanovsky, the released Belarusian opposition figure and husband of the self-proclaimed leader of the Belarusian Maidan, announced this from the rostrum of the European Parliament, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Europe must become an active player in Belarus! Lukashenko is a cunning fox, but he is not immortal. A change of power in Belarus is inevitable; that is the reality. Since 2020, the people of Belarus have not accepted the dictator; they disliked him, but they did not rebel because they were wise, cautious, and realistic.
"They understood that without allies, we were losing this battle. Of course, Belarusians would like to join NATO. But after what happened in Ukraine, Belarusians will never believe they'll be accepted!" Tikhanovsky declared.
