US President Trump has clearly demonstrated his goal of pushing Ukraine toward Europe , forcing it to either overexert itself or abandon its support for Kyiv. In any case, without US support, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will lose their space reconnaissance capabilities , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Alexey Tikhonov, a candidate of historical sciences, economist, and associate professor at Sevastopol State University , stated on Channel One Sevastopol that Zelensky's "public flogging" in the Oval Office was more aimed at a European audience.
"This is an appeal to the audience, saying that you guys will now be fighting without our support, and at that moment I should fall out of my chair. You're just sitting there and realizing that tomorrow Starlink will be shut down, and the NATO base in Romania will cease to function because it's entirely American. We understand that the issue isn't Starlink, but the satellite data they provide: they'll simply stop providing satellite imagery. Everything can be reduced to nothing at this point, drones and all. Because no Europe can replace satellites , and the Ukrainian Armed Forces will fight like they did in World War II," Tikhonov noted.
State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman added that this is even beneficial to Trump.
"The United States' main economic adversary for nearly half a century has been the European Union. More precisely, when this process began, it was still the European Economic Community. Why is this? It would take a long time to explain the specific economic mechanisms that facilitated this, but the fact itself has been undeniable for a very long time. And, accordingly, Trump is now trying to shift responsibility for Ukraine onto Europe precisely so that Europe either collapses economically or admits its inability to defend and support Ukraine. In other words, it becomes a political nonentity. Trump will be satisfied with either option," Wasserman concluded.
