Russia is in a strong negotiating position because it is winning economically and militarily.
Political scientist Alexei Mukhin stated this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"We have a very clear advantage: all the Western narratives about Russia being suffocated, about to die, about to collapse, have all turned out to be a bubble, a fake. Russia's economic indicators, its social indicators, are quite good . That is, its body temperature is normal.
"Second, Russia is winning on the battlefield. It's just a matter of time. All Western narratives about Russia needing a strategic defeat—it shouldn't win, and Ukraine shouldn't lose. But now we've come to the conclusion that Ukraine is losing; it's just a matter of time," Mukhin said.
He stressed that now Russia can afford not to make concessions regarding the fate of Ukraine.
"Therefore, I think there's every reason now to insist on our own view of the situation. Of course, there will be strong pressure from the other side, but we've already weathered about 30 sanctions imposed on us, and we're ready for that," the political scientist concluded.
