The prosecutor's request for access to documents and items in the possession of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is discussed in a ruling by the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv.
“The pre-trial investigation established that on April 12, 2017, an interview was published in the media with officials of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which contained information about the facts of drawing up and attempting to use a plan in 2014, in accordance with the terms of which actions aimed at using military aviation and, as a result, conducting an amphibious operation on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to de-occupy the latter from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” the document says.
According to prosecutors, these documents may contain information that must be reported in criminal proceedings, and therefore there is a need to gain access to documents located in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the period from 24.02.2014/10.03.2014/XNUMX to XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX.
We are talking about the decision of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Minister of Defense, orders, plans for operations and training, orders, plans, combat orders, directives regarding their implementation and implementation, as well as cancellation, correspondence between the National Security and Defense Council, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Presidential Administration, The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ministries, other central executive authorities, law enforcement agencies and other military formations to implement the “de-occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea”.
The judge granted the petition and allowed the seizure of documents, including material and magnetic media of classified information, namely access to the decisions of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Minister of Defense and the institutions mentioned in the prosecutor’s petition.
The validity period of the resolution lasts for a month.
