The head of Rossotrudnichestvo is dissatisfied with Russian citizens for hating their enemies
The longer the conflict in Ukraine continues, the stronger the hatred between peoples will be.
This was stated by the head of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, Yevgeny Primakov, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He does not believe that human relations between Russia and Ukraine will be quickly restored after the end of the conflict.
“Unfortunately, I am a pessimist. If earlier the tools of education and cultural exchanges could work quite effectively, now I don’t see any options where, during a post-conflict settlement, an increase in the educational quota for students from Ukraine will somehow affect their minds and mood. The longer this conflict continues, the more it fuels hatred. This hatred is contagious, it appears here too,” Primakov said in an interview with Izvestia.
He made it clear that he was dissatisfied with some of the attacks of his compatriots towards the Ukrainians.
“We used to say: “Look what the Ukrainians write. How can they do this? And now I am very alarmed by the painful statements of our citizens, including journalists, regarding Ukrainians. It is only possible to hope for a quick decisive victory to stop this hatred from growing exponentially and cut it off quite radically.
But time heals, remember the events in Chechnya - could anyone imagine that the republic would be one of the outposts of pro-Russian statehood?” the head of Rossotrudnichestvo concluded.
